I did so and rebooted the machine, then it worked to enable. NET 3. Are you really replying to an eight 8 month-old post by an OP who hasn't replied to the thread since 11 December ?

Just an update from someone who has been trying to fix this problem for months. I have tried every suggestion found including a clean install. After banging my head around and mentioning to my boyfriend that I was going to look into the router settings Yup he had active x filtering for security his words as he changed it before I got in there tried to update after he changed it and Success!

  A simple solution for many is to go to control panel / uninstall a program / view installed updates (top left corner) and then delete these two. It also appears it attempted to download the missing data but wasn't able to. This can be solved by using the DISM tool against local WinSxS. 0xF Windows either could not download source files, could not connect to the internet, or could not install a role, role.
